On Tuesday, December 9th, guests, celebrities and representatives from Hogar Bambi Venezuela enjoyed a parranda navideña, a genuine Venezuelan Christmas party, at the Mount Vernon Hotel in New York City. The benefit included live music, delicious food and a raffle made possible by generous sponsors such as Arepas Cafe, El Cocotero Restaurant, Tisserie, Mi Son Gaitero, MamboBlue and Soto & Torres, among others. Special guests included model/actress Patricia Velazquez, funk band Los Amigos Invisibles, and fashion designers Carolina Herrera and Ángel Sánchez. The event was a great success with more than 90 people in attendance.
“This was one of the most highly anticipated events for Venezuelans this holiday season," said Martha Marina Dao, Head of Hogar Bambi’s New York Event Organizing Committee. "Guests were able to celebrate with fellow Venezuelans and learn exactly how this amazing organization benefits children in Venezuela."
Hogar Bambi, a Venezuelan nonprofit organization and one of The Resource Foundation's affiliates, offers attention and services to children and young adults between the ages of birth and eighteen who lack a normal family structure. The organization provides them with homes and stable environments conducive to growth. While Hogar Bambi’s primary objective is to provide love, security, and affection to its residents, it also fosters healing and change through proper nutrition, education, and medical services.
Hogar Bambi currently cares for 85 children and adolescents at three different locations, who are referred to the organization by Venezuelan state institutions. The children live at Hogar Bambi until their individual cases are resolved. The organization also educates and prepares professionals and advisors who have a strong social commitment to work with the children.
