Community Foundations

The Resource Foundation partners with community foundations to assist them in fulfilling their donors’ charitable giving in Latin America and the Caribbean. We recognize that your donors’ interests, although primarily focused on your own community, may also include other geographic areas. Thus, we are your resource for ensuring that your requirements, and those of your donor funds, are met to the highest professional standards. 

Our 22 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of the region and its    non-profits enables us to help you and your donors, providing you with the same high-quality services offered to our private foundation and corporate partners, and tailored as needed to meet your individual/unique specifications. How TRF can assist you and your donors: 

Advisory Services

  • Identifying local non-profits in a specific country and/or field-of-interest
  • Providing research and information regarding issues relative to your donors’ interests
  • Assisting in the design of Latin American/Caribbean giving programs for your donors
Due Diligence
  • Thorough due diligence that meets and exceeds best practices for international grantmaking
  • Ability to select non-profits from our established regional network of 198 organizations or to support alternative local organizations identified by your donor
Transparency and Accountability
  • The Resource Foundation practices the highest standards of fiscal responsibility
  • Received Charity Navigator's highest rating of 4-stars for two consecutive years (2008 and 2009)
Funds Transfer
  • Expeditious and accurate international funds transfer to grantee organization(s)
  • Confirmation of receipt of funds by grantee
Reporting
  • Timely and accurate grant (financial) accountability reports to the community foundation and donor
  • Interim and final program reports as required, including impact evaluation, etc.
  • Periodic reports by TRF staff conducting field visits
Custom Services
  • The Resource Foundation will work with you to design specialized services that best meet you donors’ needs
  • TRF will help to facilitate on-site visits for your staff and/or donors
  • Donor learning opportunities about issues and trends affecting the region
