EnseñaPerú
EnseñaPerú works to provide an excellent education to all students in Peru. To confront the problem of poor quality education and reduce its acute inequality, the organization offers a solution by attracting Peru’s most talented young professionals (known as Young Leaders).  These Youth Leaders teach in high-need areas for two years and then continue to affect cross-sector, large-scale education reform in Peru. To support building the sustainability of this organization, a hosted fund has been established with The Resource Foundation to receive donations in support of EnseñaPerú.

To date, EnseñaPerú has a team of 67 Young Leaders and impacts not only the lives of more than 5,300 children and youth students in 27 schools, but also their communities located in three Peruvian regions: Arequipa, Lima y Callao.

EnseñaPerú focuses its work in two main areas:

Academic Achievement

EnseñaPerú aims for each Young Leader to obtain a class average of 80% mastery of learning goals per course taught.  This is defined by a combination of mastery of each of the individual learning objectives and by successful coverage of the full curriculum. This ambitious goal will help contribute to closing the achievement gap.

Aspirational Development

Equally as important as academic results are advances in the motivation and aspirations of the  students. As such, EnseñaPerú measures improvements in three values related to the pillars of the Teaching as Leadership model: self-confidence, motivation/aspiration, and perseverance.

Our mission: To build a movement made up of young Peruvian leaders that contributes to eliminating the high inequality and the low quality of education in Peru.

Our vision: One day, all children and youth in Peru will have access to an excellent education.
