Sebastián Farías is an 18 year-old student attending the Agroecological School of Pirque (EAP), a high school run by The Resource Foundation’s Chilean affiliate, Fundación Origen. Like many youth attending EAP, he works part-time in the tourism industry and in a nearby restaurant to help support his large family. Read Sebastián's Story
"I used to work without knowing the best way to cultivate coffee," says Maurico. "Then, I was selected by Funbanhcafé to visit other small farmers who showed us their neatly tended plots. For the first time I realized I could become a much better coffee grower. I learned to make and use compost and to plant shade trees and other plants to protect the soil from erosion. I also learned about crop rotation to enrich the soil and provide better food for my family." Read Mauricio's Story
